Seth Rogen Claims His Show 'Santa Inc.' Has "Pissed Off Tens of Thousands of White Supremacists"
The new adult stop-motion TV series is getting lumps of coal for ratings
Published Dec 03, 2021Another day, another Seth Rogen news item; you know the drill. This time, the Canadian actor, ceramicist and weed guy has boldly stated that he's pissed off "tens of thousands" of white supremacists with his new show Santa Inc.
The festive, eight-episode stop-motion TV series for adults launched just yesterday (December 2) and it's already averaging a 3 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 1.1 out of 10 score on IMDb — in fact, it now takes the top spot on the latter's list of worst-rated TV shows. Ouch.
Starring Rogen as Santa Claus and Sarah Silverman as ambitious elf Candy Smalls, who wants to succeed him as the first woman Santa, the cast also includes voice acting from Nicholas Braun, Leslie Grossman, Maria Bamford, Craig Robinson, Joel Kim Booster and Gabourey Sidibe.
"We really pissed off tens of thousands of white supremacists with our new show #SantaInc which is now available on HBOMAX! (Please read the responses to this tweet for confirmation)," Rogen wrote on Twitter yesterday evening, following the immediate onslaught of disparaging responses to the series.
In the replies, many of his supporters alleged that the viewer ratings didn't actually reflect the quality of the show and instead resulted from review-bombing by white supremacists writing offensive comments based in antisemitism, since both Rogen and Silverman are Jewish.

However, others have argued that the actor's tweet is deflecting audience dissatisfaction with Santa Inc., which might just not be very good.
You can watch the trailer for Santa Inc. below to get an idea of whether it could really be that bad.
Recently, Rogen also smoked "a ton of weed" before Adele's CBS concert special and faced off against Nick Offerman while donning a mullet in the trailer for Pam & Tommy.
