Yeah Yeah Yeahs were due to be next week's musical guest on Saturday Night Live (December 17), but they've now been replaced by Lizzo due to YYYs guitarist Nick Zinner's health. In a statement posted on social media, the band wrote, "Nick has had pneumonia over the past month it's been an up and down recovery process. The band's top priority is supporting Nick through a full recovery." The band also cancelled their appearance at KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas.
Even before the Yeah Yeah Yeahs announced the reason for the cancellation, SNL has already confirmed Lizzo as their replacement. ELVIS actor Austin Butler will still host.
