The Strokes' Julian Casablancas on Elon Musk: "What a Great Symbol for 2020s Pieces of Shit"
"maybe twitter could deal if you didn't (like a typical ceo asshole bottom-line hungry super-villain) fire half your staff"
Published Nov 11, 2022As we all know, Elon Musk's tyrannical Twitter takeover (say that three times fast) has been going really well. Julian Casablancas of the Strokes agrees.
In one of his occasional commentaries on current events and such, the musician echoed the sentiments of the masses over the billionaire overlord's mismanagement of the social media platform. A couple of Instagram posts see Casablancas bemoaning the already-suspended Twitter Blue subscription process, which has resulted in an abundance of fraudulent accounts thanks to the whole pay-$8-to-become-verified schtick.
"PS dear Rober Baron asshole who makes butt ugly ass cars and thinks billionaires show pay no taxes… (elon musk)," the singer-songwriter wrote in a since-deleted caption for a photo of British singer Bryan Ferry. "[M]aybe twitter could deal if you didn't (like a typical ceo [sic] asshole bottom-line hungry super-villain) fire half your staff."
Casablancas added, "[W]hat a great symbol for 2020s pieces of shit," with a cute flower bouquet emoji and a surely not inaccurate attribution to Ryan Gosling.

Below a subsequent (also since-deleted) photo of actor Ana de Armas, the Strokes bandleader made it evident that he, too, had been victimized by Musk's Twitter reign. "[D]ear fake 'verified' twitter (thanks Elon Twat) acct person pretending to be me ... hope ur good at hidingg [sic], cuz imma cut your ugly ass throat when i find you," Casablancas wrote.
"[A]nd i will," he added, before adding an attribution to de Armas.

Said impersonator seems to just be a big Strokes fan. Yikes!
Doja Cat and Kathy Griffin are also among the celebs who have become just like us through the great equalizing force of Musk bricking it. When Casablancas hasn't been busy being a full-time social media manager, he and the Strokes recorded part of their new album at the top of a mountain.
